The Springeri Damsel, Chrysiptera springeri, is also known as the Springer’s Demoiselle and Blue Sapphire Damselfish. These fish come from the Indo-Pacific region. They have a beautiful dark blue body with dark outlines on the body and fins. These are one of the more peaceful of the damselfish.
Damselfish are omnivores and require a diet rich in both meaty and plant foods, such as mysis and brine shrimp, marine algae, and flake food.
This Damselfish can grow to be about 2″ and can be housed in aquariums as small as 30 gallons with plenty of live rock. They are reef safe and although more friendly than many damsels, they may become territorial.
