The Red Stripe Angelfish, Centropyge eibli, is also known as the known as the Eibl’s Angelfish, Blacktail Angelfish, and Orangeline Angelfish. These fish come from the Indo-West Pacific region, from Sri Lanka to the eastern Indo-Malaya region. They have a cream colored body highlighted with several vertical, orange to red stripes. The back of the body and caudal fin are black and the caudal fin is outlined in a bright blue.

These fish are omnivores and require a diet of marine algae, mysis or frozen shrimp, and other meaty items. They should be fed a couple of times a day, when underfed, they tend to nip at corals and invertebrates.

The Red Stripe Angelfish requires an aquarium of at least 70 gallons or larger with plenty of live rock for hiding and grazing. Although typically peaceful, they do become territorial once they have established themselves in a tank.

They are considered to be reef safe with caution because they are known to nip at corals and clam mantles.
